Pogo Pin connectors compress vertically relative to the contact surface, saving PCB space and allowing for flexible layout options. Because their mechanical motion uses internal helical springs, they provide a stable contact force over a long functional lifespan (often exceeding 100,000 compressions). By comparison, standard leaf spring contacts can suffer from plastic deformation and wear out faster under similar conditions.
